Education

I have a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Brandeis University, where I studied on a full scholarship, the Wien International Scholarship Program. I majored in Computer Science and Linguistics & Cognitive Studies.

I have a Master of Arts in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, for which I got a merit scholarship. This interdisciplinary course is based on a unique, holistic perspective on the social sciences developed at the university. Students took a core course based on this perspective as well as eight other courses. They had also to submit an original work of research as their Master’s thesis.

My Master’s thesis was in South Asian history, for which I used five archives across Chicago, London and Mumbai. My guide was the late Professor Ralph Austen, a historian of Africa, including of the slave trade, but I was also significantly mentored by Professor Dipesh Chakrabarty, a founding member of the Subaltern Studies Group. Details about my thesis will appear soon on my ‘Research’ page, a link to which appears on the main menu, above.
